Christine McKanna-Farr, founding director of designmilkstudio, is based in Australia with offices in Malaysia and Singapore. As an award-winning artisan and architect-interior designer creating exceptional spaces, Christine is also a leader in facilitating workshops for creating space-planning budgets and understanding the context of place for developments – collaborating with local and international clients in Australia and throughout Asia and the Pacific Region.
Cross-cultural communications knowledge and experience in the business-of-design that transcends borders – embraces all-inclusiveness of cultures and communities – and sensitive/responsive to Land-Use in harmony for future generations.
McKanna-Farr’s career spans 25 years in architectural design and client management working with Australian tier 1 architectural firms, including 12 years based in China, Singapore, Malaysia and Bahrain.
Working on large-scale and boutique developments of mixed-use, 5 Star hotels and resorts, and luxe residential projects. Christine developed her signature design style working alongside multi-award-winning design-hero Kerry Hill in Singapore as project design manager, progressing to grow international architectural-design practices in competitive international markets.
Andrew Low is based in Kuala Lumpur and brings over 28 years of leadership experience in corporate strategy, sales, marketing and business operations to the designmilkstudio group.
Andrew graduated from the University of New South Wales, Sydney with a degree in Electrical Engineering. His career spans the Asia Pacific region in telecommunications, engineering, manufacturing and design industries, working in local and global multinationals and managing P&L.
Previously the South Pacific CEO for the Optic Marine Group and South East Asia MD for Steelcase Asia Pacific, Andrew has extensive expertise in establishing strategic partnerships, managing budgets, operations and organising high performing teams for projects to grow sales and profitability.
Andrew’s collaborative role for designmilkstudio brings together high-level client engagement and property development opportunities. He is responsible for connecting designmilkstudios’ exquisite design intuition and expertise with landowners, developers and operators to create exceptional architecture and design for hotels and resorts, luxury residential and commercial spaces.
Andrew jointly develops the property feasibility studies, business strategy and financial model with clients.
Christie is a uniquely talented designer and leader with the charisma and pizzaz to empower talented creatives dealing with the most difficult of client briefs. Our shared COVID challenges in running a studio in Malaysia, contributing to Thailand client experiences, designing for Australian workplace solutions whilst always maintaining an eye on the UAE - was done with fun, style, openness and the ability to always find the positive and focus on a great outcome.
